Our first night campsite.
Not too far from our campsite we came over the pass and found this neat field of boulders and trees.
Beautiful View from top of the pass.
As we were trying to find where the trail went, I kept shooting pictures.
Obviously, I liked the view from the top of the pass.
One last shot from the pass, before helping Tom find the trail. We ended up doing a little bushwhacking, but eventually found it.
As we found the trail and headed out into the meadow we began to see the beauty of Evelyn Lake.
Evelyn Lake, and I was surprised that mosquitos did not end up in these pictures. They were horrible around this lake.
Plenty of snow fields left on the top of this range.
I just thought this was a neat picture with the barren area, trees and mountain ranges in the background.
Evelyn Lake, its boulder strewn meadow and if you look closely our trail that heads through the middle of the field.
I don't see much snow, so I really enjoy seeing these snow fields mixted in with all the beauty.
There are actually two ranges here, but you have to look closely.
What can I say, I like this lake and the meadow.
A closer look at the sharp peaks that the glaciers, rivers and weather have left behind.
Our trail. If you look carefully you can see it stretch through the meadow.
I like the way the range came out from behind the lake and the hill holding the lake.
I was thinking of making a panaromic with the previous picture, this one and the next picture.
Maybe I will go back and put these together. Neat picture!
Of course we have to have proof that we made it this far and Tom was more then willing to take this on.
That pack looks heavy!
Marmot posing for us.
Evelyn Lake
Snow melts = Water = the start of Evelyn Lake
View from the other side of the lake.
Another shot of the snow field feeding Evelyn Lake.
When I took this picture i was thinking how cool the shadows of the clouds were on the rock face. I never saw that tent until now!
Vogelsang Lake in the far distance. We are heading over there then up over the pass.
As you can see we were going to have a pretty walk through this valley.
As we climb over the pass we come to Vogelsang Lake. What a beautiful Lake.
As I walked around Vogelsang Lake I took a picture from each direction.
Looks like a nice day from this side of the pass, but.........
Side shot of the lake on way up the pass.
I really wanted to walk through this snow field.
From the pass, looking down at the lake.
Not too much can grow on the top of the pass in this barren landscape, but I like these spots the best on our trips.
As we cross over the pass to the other side, we came face to face with two lakes, this is one of them.
This is the other lake. Apparently, some of Ansel Adams pictures were inspired from this lake.
And the day is about to change for the worse. We stop to eat and get our rain gear out. No more pictures until the rain stops.
Finally the thunderstorm went away and the sun gave us some hope.
Trying to dry out as much as I can before nighttime at camp 2.
Closing in on the end of the day, but thankfully we made it through unharmed.
Neat landscape at our campsite. This raging river was supposed to be a creek, but 3.5 hours of rain in the canyon changed that.
End of Day 2!
